Larry Ray Poteat

Larry Ray Poteat Sr., 60, of Heritage Manor Circle, Welcome, died Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2006, from injuries he suffered in an auto accident. Mr. Poteat was born on March 17, 1945, in Durham County to Ernest Stephen Poteat Sr. and Catholine Poteat. He retired after 23 years of service with the U.S. Air Force and serving in Vietnam. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Lee Poteat, of the home; a son, Larry Ray Poteat Jr., and wife, April, of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Angie Poteat, of Clemmons; and five grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15, at Parklawn Memorial Park, with the Rev. Raymond Craven officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Davidson Funeral Home - Hickory Tree Chapel, and other times at the home.
