Larry Jay Rose, 65, of Shoreline Drive Lexington, died suddenly Friday at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday January 14, 2015, at Macedonia United Methodist Church in Southmont NC, where he was a member, with Rev. Randy Blanton officiating services.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Tuesday January 13, 2015 at Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Rose was born September 1, 1949 in Cook County Illinois, to Russell John Rose and Mildred Lee Rose. He served as a police officer for 26 years and retired from the Winston Salem Police Department, a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the Masonic Lodge 167. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Bonnie Lee Rose.
Surviving is his wife Betsy Jones Rose of the home; a twin brother. Gary Rose and wife Judy of Clemmons; one sister, Lynn Rose Haynes and husband Mike of Raleigh; two nieces, Amy Rose and Sherry Rose; one nephew, Jordon Pike and wife Kelly of Wilmington; a sister-in-law, Patsy Pike of Mount Airy; and his step mother Nell Rose of Winston Salem.
