Larry Dan Rowe, 85, of Lexington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2025, at Hinkle Hospice House. A lifelong resident of Lexington, Larry was born on April 24, 1940, to the late Virgil Olden Rowe and Ruby Pearl Crotts Rowe.
Larry honorably served his country in the United States Air Force, where he developed the quiet strength, bravery, and integrity that would define him throughout his life. A simple and humble man, Larry was known for his intelligence, gentle spirit, and love of family. He enjoyed traveling to sunny destinations—especially Myrtle Beach and Las Vegas—and treasured every trip spent with those he loved most. Above all, he adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him endless pride and joy. Larry also had a special place in his heart for his three beloved cats: Tinker Bell, Raven, and Sandy.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Dorothy Samouelle Rowe; his son, Danny Lee Rowe (Diane) of Illinois; his daughter, Tina Lorraine Fletter (Perry) of Indiana; and his brother, Jerry Rowe (Joann). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Tracy Thompson (Steve), Jeffrey Crawford (Donna), Amy King (Eddie), and Brittany Whitby; along with eleven great-grandchildren who will continue to carry his memory in their hearts.
A funeral service to honor Larry’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, with visitation beginning an hour prior at 10:00 a.m. A committal service with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Hinkle Hospice House for the compassionate care and support shown during Larry’s final days, and a special thank you to granddaughter Amy and Eddie for their love and devotion.
