Larry Shoupe Costner

Larry Shoupe Costner, 59, of Westside Drive, died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2006, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem after a short illness. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Preacher Clyde Akers and the Rev. Allen Smith. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park. Mr. Costner was born Sept. 23, 1947, in Burke County to Lottie Shoupe Propst. Before retirement he was a truck driver. He was a member of Common Ground Outreach Ministries. He was preceded in death by his mother. Surviving are his wife, Wanda Veigh Church Costner of the home; a son, Larry "Keith" Costner of Lexington; a daughter, Vanessa Gainey and her husband, Dale, of Lexington; a grandchild, Jessica Lea Gainey; and a sister, Linda Leonard of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and other times at the home of his son, 701 Market St. Memorials may be directed to Hospice of Davidson County, P.0.
