Laura Mae Pierce, 71, of Sunset Road, Clemmons, died Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006, at her home.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Benn Fleming.
Mrs. Pierce was born Nov. 6, 1934, in Pickens, S.C., to William Sanford Chappell and Lucy Dodgens Chappell. She was of the Baptist faith. She had worked at Lacy J. Miller Machine Co. and retired from Lexington Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Garland Chappell and Kenneth Chappell, and four sisters, Floree Hendricks, Frances Wilson, Avanell Nix and Louise Murphy.
Surviving are her husband, Joe I. Pierce of the home; a son, Joe C. Pierce and his wife, Patty, of Clemmons; a daughter, Reba P. Weaver and her husband, David, of Vian, Okla.; two grandchildren, Scott Weaver and his wife, Lori, and Brian Weaver; and five sisters, Sybil Billingsley of Melbourne, Fla., Betty Clark of Pickens, S.C., and Wilma Youngblood, Barbara Hudson and Pat Rockwell, all of Easley, S.C.
The family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
