Lawrence Melvin “Buddy” Leonard, Jr. age 70 of Briggstown Road, Lexington passed away Thursday, March 24, 2016 at his home. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Darrell Cox officiating. Burial will follow. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening. Buddy was born in Davidson County April 21, 1945 to Lawrence Melvin “Bus” Leonard, Sr. and Anna Swing Leonard. He was owner of B & L Custom Saddles and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father and wife, Linda Harvey Leonard in 2011. Surviving are his sons, Jeff Leonard and wife Luann of Lexington, Chris Leonard and wife Elisha of Greenville, SC; grandsons, Matthew, Adam, Brandon and Jeremy Leonard; mother, Anna Swing Leonard of Lexington; sisters, Angie Harrelson and husband Tony of Florida and Babette Grubbs and husband Steve of Thomasville; brother, Randy Leonard and wife Diane of High Point and special friend, Juanita Yates.
