Lawrence Edward Sightler

Lawrence Edward Sightler, age 74, of Dacotah Street, died Wednesday May 11, 2011 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center after a brief illness. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday May 13, 2011 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Paul Reiszel officiating services.   The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm   Lawrence was born in Richland County, SC September 23, 1936, to Hughey Sightler and Suzie Carten Sightler.  He was a retired employee of Thomasville Furniture and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.   Surviving are wife, Carrie Lackey Sightler of the home; four sons, Brian Sightler and wife Nickie, Randy Guske and wife Cindi all of Lexington, Rick Guske and wife Jody of Illinois and Jim Guske and wife Pennie of Maryland; one daughter, DeLane Reiszel and husband Paul of Lexington; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one brother, Harvey Sightler and family of Virginia; three sisters, Georgia Barrett and family, Hazel Byrum and family of all of Virginia and Peggy Jo Fegre and family of Wisconsin.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
