Lawrence Junior Venable

Lawrence Junior Venable, age 76 of Spruce Street, Lexington passed away Saturday at his home.  Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday (February 3, 2010) at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating.  Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday night and at other times at the home.   Lawrence was born in Chatham County, NC August 8, 1933 to Samuel Rastus Venable and Ersie Bell Nelson Venable.  He attended Leonard Road Baptist Church.  He retired from the machine room of Thomasville Furniture after 37 years and 8 months of service.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son Eddie Dwayne Venable.   Surviving are; wife Hazel “Billie” Venable of the home; two sons, Lawrence (Michael) Venable and wife Cindy, Jimmy Gobble and special friend Connie Shavens of Lexington; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Martha Todd of Shallotte, NC and Pauline Hicks of Welcome.   Arrangements by Davidson Funeral Home Lexington     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
