Leila Young Wallace

Leila Young Wallace, age 93 of Pinetop Road, Lexington passed away Thursday morning May 24, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Meadowview Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Bitterman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 until 3:00 pm, prior to the service. Leila was born in Danville, VA on March 28, 1925 to Peter Bolen Young and Ethel Justice Young. She was a retired employee of Dacotah Mills and was a member of Meadowview Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Floyd Lee Wallace, Sr. who died October 3, 1997; sons, Richard and Glenn Wallace; sisters, Clarice Doby, Ruth Everhart and Loretta Goodman; brothers, William, Garland and Alvin Young. Surviving are her daughter, Patricia Owen (Doug) of Lexington; son, Lee Wallace, Jr. (Debbie), 5 grandchildren, Dale Wallace (Belinda), Jeff Wallace (Kendra), Cindy Fulbright (William), Mark Owen (Dedra) and Amy Miller (Kevin); 12 great-grandchildren;sisters, Elizabeth Simerson of Lexington and Fannie Trexler of Granite Quarry.
