Len Brown Mcneill

Marylen (Len) Brown McNeill, 76 of Lexington, NC passed away peacefully on June 2nd, 2023 surrounded by family.
Len was born on November 13th, 1946 in Lexington to the late Marylen (Sis) White Brown and William (Bill) Franklin Brown Jr. She had two siblings that she loved dearly...sister Ann Brown Ripple and brother, the late William Franklin (Franky) Brown III.
Len grew up in Lexington and graduated from Lexington Senior High School with the class of '65. In the summer of 1968, her life changed forever when she met the love of her life, Gil McNeill, on a trip with her best friends to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The two quickly fell in love and were married a couple of months later. Over their 55 years of marriage, they raised a family (sons Gil Jr. and Birke) and together had many wonderful life adventures.
Len was active in the Charity League of Lexington for many years and enjoyed being involved in the production of the yearly Charity League plays. During the time she and husband Gil lived in Wrightsville Beach, she loved helping to organize events at Seapath Marina including the Spanish Mackerel Tournament and Shrimparoo.
Len was a caring person who had a beautiful smile. She wanted everyone to be happy, healthy, and successful. She loved her family and friends and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Gil, her sons Gil Jr. and Birke (Amy), her loving sister Ann Brown Ripple (Chris), and two beautiful granddaughters Kaitlyn and Lucy.
A service will be held on Sunday, June 4th at 2:00 PM, at First Presbyterian Church in Lexington, with Rev. Jon Martin officiating. A celebration of life will follow at 109 Hemlock Drive in Lexington.
The family would like to thank the many wonderful friends, family, doctors, nurses, and Hospice for all the loving care and support Len (and the family) got over the last few years, months and weeks. It has meant the world.
