Lena Casey Wood

Lena Casey Wood 95 of Avenue I, Lexington passed away June 16, 2013 at her home. A graveside service will be 11 am Thursday June 20, 2013, at Roaring River Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkes County conducted by Revs. James Honeycutt and Paul Holbrook. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 19, 2013, from 6 to 8 pm at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Mrs. Wood was born February 27, 1918 in Wilkes County to William Henry Casey and Vaden Hayes Casey. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John Andrew Wood; a son Floyd Wood; her brothers, Delos Casey and Claude Casey; and sister Dossie Baugess. Surviving are sons, Robert Lee Wood (Brenda), Douglas Allen Wood (Joyce), John Wayne Wood (Carolyn), all of Southmont and Leon Wood (Billie), Dollie Wood, all of Lexington. Also surviving are daughters, Barbara Sue Wood (J.D.) of Southmont and Ila Roberts of Newton; 50 grandchildren; 105 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
