Lenora Odessa Newsom Mclamb

Lenora Odessa Newsom McLamb, 80, of Country Lane passed away on Friday, September 22, 2017 in Arbor Acres.   The visitation will be held starting at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 24, 2017. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m.  Both services will be held in the sanctuary at Midway United Methodist Church.   Born on April 8, 1937, she was the daughter of Louise Jones Newsom and Maxwell (Mack) Eugene Newsom. She was a graduate of North Davidson High School and East Carolina University where she majored in Elementary Education.  She taught at Midway Elementary School prior to staying at home with her children where she devoted her love, time and energy to encouraging and supporting them and their friends.   She was a member of Midway United Methodist Church.. She loved to be surrounded by children, art, music, nature, and especially dogs. She will be remembered for her sweet spirit, compassion and kind-heartedness. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as son-in-law Kevin Beauchamp.   She is survived by her children Jan McLamb Johnson (Harry Mock), Julie McLamb Beauchamp, Jon Marshall McLamb (Kerri), her grandchildren Jennifer Johnson Alcon (Cory), Parker Maxwell Beauchamp, Lawson Patrick McLamb, Layton Alexander McLamb, and her most faithful, four-legged companion Sassafras (Sassy).   The family would like to especially thank all those who loved and cared for her over the last few months at Strickland Place at Arbor Acres.   In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Arbor Acres, 1240 Arbor Rd., Winston Salem, NC 27104   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
