Leo Leslie Baker, Sr., age 80, of Hege Drive, formerly of Curry Street, Lexington passed away Sunday night (Sept. 25, 2011) at Lexington Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Friday (Sept. 30, 2011) in the Davidson Funeral Home Lexington Chapel with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday and at other times at the home, 27 Hege Drive, Apt. 4.
Leo was born March 17, 1931 in Greenbrier County, West Virginia to Clark Lee Baker and Leona Beatrice Martin Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Carver Baker in 2001; a son, Wayne Baker in 1961; a grandson, Christopher Lee Baker in 1997; sister, Immogene Phillips and a brother, Bernard Baker.
Surviving are six daughters, Rose Huffman and husband, Jerry, Mary Crawford and husband, Dennis, all of Lewisburg, W. VA, Marilyn Durham and husband, Gary, of Hillsborough, NC, Bonnie Martin and husband, Mason, of Caldwell, W.Va, Regina Michael and husband, Kermit, Judy Lewis and husband, Russel, all of Lexington; four sons, David Baker, Sr. of Windsor, NC, Leo Baker, Jr., and wife, Linda, and Joe Baker all of Lewisburg, W.VA and Roger Baker and wife, Alice, of Lilburn, Ga.; 30 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Geraldine Burns of Parkersburg, W.VA and Teresa Adkins of Talcott, W.VA; brother and sister in law, Jonathan and Loretta Ewing of Johnson City, TN; numerous nieces and nephews.
