Leo Church

Leo Alexander Church Jr., 66, of Haden Grove Church Road, Linwood, passed away at his home Thursday morning, Nov. 20, 2008, at 1:28 a.m. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Salisbury National Cemetery by the Rev. Matthew Farabow. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery with military honors. Leo was born in Davidson County on Nov. 12, 1942, to Leo Alexander Church Sr. and Mary "Dot" Coble Church. He was a former supervisor with PPG and was of the Methodist faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served on the USS Intrepid. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Linda Koonts Church, of the home; one son, Victor Lee Church, and his wife, Angie, of Linwood; two daughters, Selina Church Steele and her husband, Mitchell, of Lexington and Helen Church Kemp and her husband, Eddie, of Linwood; six grandchildren, Noel and Michelle Steele, Jennifer and Billy Church, Josh and Ben Kemp; and one brother, Richard Church of Asheboro. There will be no visitation, but the family will be at the home of his son, Victor Church, 205 Leo Church Circle, Linwood.
