Mr. Leo Edwin Hardman, 86, formerly of Mountainbrook Drive, died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Broughton Hospital in Morganton.
A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, January 29 from the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Gary Foster. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 AM Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mr. Hardman was born in Madison County, GA to Zed and Mamie Belle Smith Hardman. He was a veteran of the US Navy and retired from TransCo after 25 years of service. Mr. Hardman was a member of Reeds Baptist Church, the Lexington Lapidary Club, and the Reeds Lions Club. His wife, Beatrice McCraney Hardman, preceded him in death on November 14, 1999, as well as his daughter, Regina Kay; his brothers, Cornelius Hardman, and J. W. Hardman, and his sister, Carolyn Smith.
He is survived by his daughters, Rita H. Koontz and husband, Freddy, and Beverly H. McKinney and husband, Phillip, both of Lexington; his son, Reggie Hardman of Linwood; his sisters, Mary Ann Ramsey and Hildred Benson; his brother, Doyle Hardman; his grandchildren, Ashlee Moore and husband, Brent, Darin Buchanan, Carin Ellis and husband, Chris, and Zane McKinney; and eight great-grandchildren.
