Leon Coppley

Ranzie Leon Coppley, 79, of NC Highway 8, passed away, Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Hinkle Hospice House.  The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, at Davidson Funeral Home with Pastor JC Miles officiating. Entombment will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. and other times at the home.  Mr. Coppley was born April 10, 1938, in Davidson County, to Archer Coppley and Freda Owen Coppley. He served in the U.S. Army and later retired from PPG where he had been a fixer for many years. Mr. Coppley attended First Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, five brothers; four sisters; four sisters-in-law; and six brothers-in-law.  Surviving are his loving wife of 42 years Polly Ann Coppley of the home; daughters, Tonya Stoker (Mike) of Lexington; Norma DeLong (Chuck) of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Derek Stoker, and Brittany Stoker, Kendra Hobbs and Siara Hobbs; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Tolvie Forshee, Olena Byerly and Bonnie Hedrick (Colon), all of Lexington; and one sister-in-law, Linda Coppley.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292; or First Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1448 East US Highway 64, Lexington, NC 27292.
