Leonard Philip Kraftchick

May 2, 1944 — August 13, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Leonard Philip Kraftchick announces his passing on August 13, 2025, at the age of 81. He passed away peacefully at his home.

Born in Morristown, NJ to the late Morris Irving and Elizabeth Cohen Kraftchick, Lenny is survived by ten loving brothers and sisters with whom he shared time and closeness over the years. Lenny’s legacy and focus of his life was his surviving wife, Jackie, their daughter, Stacey, sons, David and Brian and daughter-in-law, Angie.  Jackie and Lenny, sweethearts since junior high school, then shared 60 married years together.  Later in life, their five grandchildren, Braeden, Cohen, Cooper, Val, and Alexia brought Lenny the greatest pride and happiness and they will truly miss their “Umpa”.

Lenny was very proud of his attendance at Louisiana State University as a member of the Marching Tigers Band playing drums, and where his lifelong love of music took hold and has been shared with his family. Len also enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and skiing in the NC mountains as well as following his beloved LSU Tigers and he was an avid sports fan. Following his retirement from Sara Lee Corp., after many years leading Sales and IT teams, he was able to continue his love of the outdoors including boating, camping and RV travel, all of which were shared and passed on to his family.

A lasting legacy of Lenny’s joyful approach to life was love of family and a keen sense of humor and quick wit which his children are passing to their families.  Lenny was an extraordinary man and role model as a father and grandfather.

Lenny chose not to mark his passing with a formal service, but rather, his family has taken time to celebrate his life and share memories of so many moments over the years of Lenny’s ability to squeeze every ounce of joy he could out of that life for he and his family.
