Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Surratt “Lib” Lohr, 93, formerly of Kildee Drive, died Saturday, January 26, at Piedmont Crossing in Thomasville, where she had resided for eight years.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, January 28 at First United Methodist Church, by the Revs. Kelley Groce and Dr. Lee Dukes, III. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 PM prior to the funeral service at the church.
Mrs. Lohr was born January 8, 1920 in Davidson County to Garrell W. Surratt and Daisy Michael Surratt. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church for many years. She served as secretary for several years, member of the Chancel Choir, received the Laity Service Award in 2006 and Special Mission Recognition in 1987. She was also a member of the Altar Guild and United Methodist Women. Her husband, John E. Lohr, former fire chief in Lexington, preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Redwine and husband, David of Kansas City, MO; her son, Larry Lohr and wife, Joy, of Birmingham, AL; her grandchildren, Allyson Nutt and husband, Kevin, of Kansas City, MO and Dr. Cartland Burns and wife, Jill, of Orlando; and her great grandchildren, Leah Rudd, Kayla and Tara Nutt and husband, Blaine Beller, of Kansas City, MO, and Sara, Ana, Niall, and Tessa Burns of Orlando.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, 310 S. Main Street, Lexington NC 27292.
