Lila Winecoff Waitman

Lila Winecoff Waitman, 90, of Tussey Road, died Sunday, May 18, 2014, at her home following a six year illness. There will be no public service. Mrs. Waitman was born June 17, 1923, in Guilford County, to Lealon “Bud” Lee Winecoff and Pearl Beck Winecoff. She was retired from Burlington Furniture where she had served as a purchasing agent. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Donald Winecoff. Surviving are her loving husband of 73 years, Joe Obediah Waitman, of the home; sons, Eddie Waitman and wife Brenda, Chip Waitman and wife Amy all of Lexington, and Bruce Waitman and wife Olga of Georgia; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
