Lilard D. Jarvis

Lilard D. Jarvis, 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.

There will be a Memorial service held on Monday, September 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM, at Freedom Missionary Baptist Church, 214 Hillcrest Court Lexington Dr. Lexington, NC 27292, with Rev. Clyde Akers officiating.

Lilard was born on June 22, 1939, in Wilkes County, NC to the late Lilard Lunsford and Ennis Johnson Jarvis. He worked for most of his life as a truck driver. Lilard was known to always be quick with a joke and had the sweetest smile. He loved watching Westerns, playing his guitar and singing, and was always a real “ladies’ man”. Above everything, he loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. His family was his pride and joy. Along with his parents and siblings, he is preceded in death by his late wife, Virginia Jarvis; and two sons, Timothy Lilard Jarvis, and Roger Wayne Jarvis.

Lilard is survived by two daughters, Sandy New and husband, James, and Debbie New and husband, Rick; a daughter-in-law, Christy Jarvis; stepdaughter, Christine Carter; five grandchildren, Jamie Brenner and husband, Ray, Jessica Patton, Jennifer Bunton, Justin New and wife, Allison, and Reese Jarvis; and seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, and Austin Brenner, Gracie Patton, Trevor Bunton, and Landon and Sawyer New.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way Lexington, NC. 27292.
