Lillian Barringer Gill

March 3, 1935 — February 9, 2015

Lillian Barringer Gill 79 of Winston-Salem went home to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, February 9, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at Freeman Street Baptist Church at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2015 with Rev. Robert Whitaker and Rev. Danny Hauser officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 and other times at the home. Lillian was born in Davidson County on March 3, 1935 to James Thomas and MamieViola Glover Barringer. She was a very loving caring stepmother. Lillian retired from the Industries for the Blind and was a member of Freeman Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and a stepson, William Charles Gill. Surviving is her husband Charles E. Gill of 32 years of marriage, of the home; three stepdaughters, Colleen Sprinkle (Daniel) of Winston-Salem, Deborah Kay Mumaw of Winston-Salem, Mary Elizabeth Richards of Fl.; sixteen step-grandchildren; forty-four step great-grandchildren and two step-great great-grandchildren; also surviving a special friend who was like a sister to Lillian, Julia Sanders. Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
