Lillian Spence Higgins

Lillian Spence Higgins, age 86 of Higgins Hill Drive, Lexington passed away Saturday morning September 22, 2018 at Hinkle Hospice House.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, Septmeber 24, 2018 at the Haley-Spence Cemetery in Stuart, Virginia with Rev. Jackie Spence officiating. There will be no public visitation.

Lillian was born October 26, 1931 in Botetourt County, Virginia to Simon Edgar Spence and Gladys Marie Williams Spence. She was a reired employee of Sara Lee Corp; attended Hope Baptist Church in Sophia, NC. She enjoyed working in her flowers and she loved her dog Gabby. She was preceded in death by her parents;husband, Bobby Lee Higgins; son Doug Higgins; 9 brothers and 1 sister.

Surviving are her daughter, Gwendolyn Higgins of Lexington; sons, Randy Higgins (Cindy) of Clemmons and Tim Higgins (Jaimie) of Lexington; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Gracie Sigmon of Bassett, VA, Josie Bowman of Claudeville, VA  Virginia Brown of Lexington; brothers, Bobby Spence of Stuart, VA., and Raymond Spence of Stillwater, OK.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Cancer Fund Raising for Matthew Higgins.
