Heaven gained another angel when Lillian Heninger Lockhart, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, 69, of NC Highway 8, went home to be with her Lord Monday, June 13, 2016, at Hinkle Hospice House.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Clyde Akers and Tim Miller. Burial will follow at Lexington City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 15, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mrs. Lockhart was born July 19, 1946, in McDowell County, WV, to Stephen Heninger and Frances Prater Heninger. She was retired from Lexington Furniture Plant 2 where she had been a sander. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, the love of her life, Clinton Ronald Lockhart, who died February 23, 2011; grandchild, CD Bennett; brothers, Deanie Heninger and Frankie Heninger; and a sister, Gracie Heninger.
Surviving are sons, Clinton Lockhart Jr. and Darrell Lockhart, both of Lexington; daughters, Sandy Edmonds and husband Jeff and Rhonda Bennett and husband David, all of Lexington; three grandchildren, Amber Lockhart, Dakota Edmonds, and Lisa Crotts; one great-grandchild, Zoey Paige Crotts; brothers, Clarence Heninger of Greensboro, Larry Henenger, Bo Heninger, Raymond Heninger, Jeff Heninger, and Tom Heninger, all of Tennessee; and sister, Jackie Heninger of West Virginia.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
