Lillian Summers Welborn

Lillian Summers Welborn, age 93, of Weaver Drive, Lexington passed away Tuesday March 5, 2019 at her home after a period of declining health.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. Lee Zehmer officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday evening and at other times at the residence.

Lillian was born in Alexander County, NC on February 27, 1926 to James Lawrence Summers and Olivia Rudi Summers. She was a graduate of Harding High School, Queens College in Charlotte and Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, MO. She was a member of The Charity League, Lexington Choral Society and was a member of First Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death by parents and her husband of 66 years, Dr. James Todd Welborn.

Surviving are her sons, James Todd Welborn, Jr. (Becky) and David Summers Welborn (Ellen) all of Lexington; daughter, Leigh Welborn Stephenson of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Lynn Welborn Scott (Gabe), Kelly Welborn Rausch (Justin), Davis Welborn, Myers Welborn, Blair Stephenson Kuplic (Kyle) and  Hunter Stephenson; great-grandchildren, Grace Scott, Madelynn Scott, Wyatt Scott, Levi Scott,Willow Rausch and Turner Kuplic.
