Linda Sue Cassidy

Linda Sue Cassidy, 75, of Lexington, NC, passed away in her home on March 17th, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 22nd at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington. A visitation will take place an hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00pm. Following the service, there will be a committal service at Forest Hill Cemetery.

Linda was born on June 14th, 1949 in Rowan County to the late Thurman O’dell Barnes Sr. and Dorothy Byrd Barnes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved best friend of 60 years, Emma Rawdon.

Linda enjoyed gardening, especially flowers and vegetables to share with her family. She also enjoyed cooking delicious meals and visiting Kuri Beach, where she could eat fresh seafood. Most importantly, she loved her family. Family meant everything to her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son Richard Cassidy of Lexington; daughter Wendy Bean (Hollie Purvis) of Lexington; brothers Thurman Barnes of Granite Quarry and Tony Barnes of Lexington; sisters Carol Pastorick (Sidney) of West Virginia, JoAnn Plott (David) of Lexington, and Paula Cassatt of Lexington; and four grandchildren: Alex Cassidy, Brooke Nye, Caleb Burris, and Tristan Bean.
