Linda Kay Hege Lookabill, 80, passed away unexpectedly at Novant Health Thomasville Medical Center on February 6, 2025.
Linda was born on January 8, 1945, to Otha and Inez Stafford Hege. After graduating from Lexington Senior High School in 1963, she attended business college at East Tennessee State University. For many years she operated the license plate agency in Thomasville and kept books for several local businesses. In her personal life, she had an unmatched sense of generosity and love for others. She was a devoted caregiver to many aging family members and a helping hand to those in need.
A truly well rounded person, Linda was a talented painter, ceramicist, gardener, and cook among many other hobbies. She enjoyed watching the birds and other wildlife from her kitchen table, where she could always be found for a conversation. She was a matriarch of the family and never failed to make her children and grandchildren know how much she loved them.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Bill Lookabill; two children, Michael Lookabill (Deirdre) and Julia Harris (Kevin); five grandchildren, Cody Harris (Katelyn), Zeb Harris, Hollie Harris, Lukas Lookabill, and Korina Lookabill; one great granddaughter, Lillian Harris; and one sister, Sherrill King (Carl) of Chesnee, South Carolina.
There will be no services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Davidson County Public Library at 602 S. Main St. Lexington, NC 27292.
