Linda Jean Patoni Diorio, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away on January 10, 2025, after a courageous and extended battle with Alzheimer’s.
She was born on March 5, 1941, in Corning, NY to Anthony and Madeline Patoni. She and her parents moved to Hollywood, FL in 1955 where Linda would attend the University of Miami. Linda married Dominic Anthony Diorio in 1960 and they had three children Elissa, Todd, and Craig. Linda worked as a registered nurse in hospitals located in Florida and later relocated to North Carolina in 1976. She would continue her nursing career at Baptist Hospital located in Winston-Salem, NC. Being a nurse brought her incredible joy and pride. She loved being a mom, grandmother and spending time with her family and friends. Linda had a special love for any beach, needlepoint, and cats.
She was proceeded in death by her son Todd, and both of her parents. Linda is survived by her brother Robert Patoni (DeeDee), her daughter Elissa D. Brannan (Joseph), her son Craig Diorio (Suzette), grandsons Sean, Conner, Riley and Jack Brannan, Devlin, Robert and Ryan Diorio and great grandsons Chase and Charlie Brannan.
A Catholic memorial mass will be held for Linda at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your nearest Humane Society or Animal shelter. Linda’s family would like to provide our sincere thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at South Fork Assisted Living and Memory Care for their incredible care of Linda.
