Linda Hendrix Sager

July 19, 1956 — November 13, 2006

Linda Kay Hendrix McDowell Sager, 50, of Manhattan Drive, went home to be with her Lord Monday, Nov. 13, 2006, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after a courageous battle with cancer since 2004. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Good Hope United Methodist Church by Pastor Sam Harvey. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Mrs. Sager was born July 19, 1956, in Davidson County to Otis Hendrix and Evelyn Mock Hendrix. She was a 1974 graduate of North Davidson High School. She was a former employee of Young-Hinkle Furniture and a 31-year employee of PPG Industries in Lexington. She was a kind, generous, caring and loving friend to everyone and was always willing to help anyone she could. She was loved by her family and friends and will be missed dearly. She enjoyed the outdoors, camping, her horses and cats. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ronnie and Edna Mock and Otis and Nomie Hendrix, and a special aunt, Barbara Mock Carter. Surviving are her husband, Darren Wade Sager of the home; one son, Thomas Chad McDowell and his wife, Stacy, of Lexington; one granddaughter, Brittany Kaylee Leonard; her father of Lexington; her mother, Evelyn Mock Cooper, and her husband, John, of Lexington; one brother, Todd Hendrix and his wife, Gail, of Lexington; three sisters, Faye Graham and her husband, Mike, Rita Huffman and her husband, Allen, and Jane Weaver and her husband, Roy, all of Lexington; four nieces, Ashley Huffman, Elizabeth Huffman, Holly Weaver and Kayla Weaver, all of Lexington; three nephews, Jeremy Graham, Jason Huffman and Adam Weaver, all of Lexington; her father-in-law, Nelson Sager of Virginia; her mother-in-law, Donna Fuller of Virginia; her sister-in-law, Angel Sager of Virginia; and she leaves behind a very special and loving companion of 20 years, her white cat, Pearl. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home of a sister, Faye Graham, 5373 N.C. Highway 150 North, Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice and Palliative Care Centers of Forsyth County, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to all her doctors and nurses of the Cancer Center of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and to the staff at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care for their comfort and loving care. Another special thanks for all the prayers, cards, visits and food from Christian Baptist Church, Good Hope United Methodist Church and friends at PPG. Also a big hug and thanks goes to our aunt, Reba Mock Perrell, for all her tremendous help, comfort, support and faithful loving care during Linda's entire two years of illness.
