Linda Shaw Varner

Linda Loretta Shaw Varner, 69, of Greensboro Street Extension, died Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007, at 9:35 p.m. at the Brian Center of Lexington after an extended illness. The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. George Fidler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Varner was born in Davidson County on Oct. 24, 1937, to Bill Lee Shaw Sr. and Myrtle Tetter Shaw. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Surviving are her husband, Albert Sheets Varner Jr., of the home; a son, Edward (Eddie) Albert Varner of Lexington; three brothers and one sister. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Lois Varner Tysinger, 535 Greensboro Street Extension.
