Lindsay Atkins

August 9, 1919 — February 17, 2010

Mr. Lindsay Franklin Atkins, 90, of Arbor Avenue, died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, February 19, 2010 at Forest Hill Memorial Park by Rev. Bruce Morasco. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 PM Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Wanda Swink, on Helmstetler Road. Mr. Atkins was born August 9, 1919 in Davidson County to Jesse and Sarah Sink Atkins. He retired from Burlington Industries and was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church. His wife, Gretchen Arlene Weaver Atkins, preceded him in death, as well as his daughter, Joyce Kinney. He is survived by his daughters, Linda Atkins Causey and husband, Jerry of Charlotte, and Wanda Swink and husband, Thomas, of Lexington; his sister, Mary Smith of Lexington; his grandchildren, Angela Leonard, and husband, Rev. Danny Leonard, of Clemmons, Nissa Hegler and husband, Philip of Lexington, Michele Causey of Charlotte, and Sonya Parker, and husband, David of Charlotte; and five great grandchildren.
