Hubert Lindsay Leonard, age 72 of West US Highway 64, Lexington passed away Saturday evening at his home after several years of declining health.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday November 25 at Reeds Baptist Church, with Rev. Henry Watterson officiating. Burial will follow in Reeds Baptist Cemetery with Honors by the Davidson County Fireman’s Honor Guard. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Monday night.
Lindsay was born in Davidson County, January 10, 1942 to Hugh Fredrick and Grace Marie Michael Leonard. He was a graduate of West Davidson High School and attended Davidson County Community College and also taught classes there. He was a member of Reeds Baptist Church and a former Deacon. He retired from the Reeds Volunteer Fire Department with 25 years of service and was a veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Virginia Leonard Koontz.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Phyllis Beeker Leonard; daughters, Michelle (Shelly) Janeice Leonard and husband, Michael B. Leonard, Dana Leonard Buie and husband, Terry; son, Michael L. Leonard and wife Heather; grandchildren, Janeice M. Leonard, Brianna M. Leonard, Thomas W. Leonard, Kayla M. Buie, Carol-Ann G. Buie, Kelsey E. Buie, Abigail L. Leonard, Meghan N. Leonard and Katelyn M. Leonard; with special love, Kaytie, Jordyn and Trey Surratt; sister, Edith Leonard Koonts.
