Lindsay Donald Owens

Lindsay Donald Owens, age 90, of Highway 8, Lexington, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017 at Hinkle Hospice.    A funeral service will be held at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Franklin Myers officiating followed by military honors conducted by Davidson County Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm prior to the service.   A private burial will follow.   Mr. Owens was born October 6, 1927 in Guilford County to Lester McCarter Owens and Eula Bowman Owens.  He was a retired foreman at PPG Industries.  Mr. Owens was a member of VFW Post 3074 and American Post 8.  He was a US Army veteran who proudly served his country in WWII.  He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, Steve Owens and Todd Owens.   Surviving are his loving wife, Peggy Hedrick Owens, of the home; a daughter, Mitzi Summerlin and husband, Jerry, of Lexington; sister, Nancy Johnson and husband, Grey, of Merritt Island, Florida, and grandchildren, Carah Summerlin and Kaley Summerlin of Lexington.   Memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
