Lindsay Mack Taylor Thomason, age 81 of Monroe Drive, Lexington passed away Saturday (February 28, 2015) at Forsyth Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday (March 4, 2015) in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Truell officiating. Burial will be at Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:00 pm prior to the service.
Lindsay was born in Davidson County April 30, 1933 to Jesse James and Carlie Belle Harrison Thomason. He was a member of Second Reformed United Church of Christ, had served on the consistory; a veteran of the US Army having served in the Korean War, member of VFW Post 3074, a retired Captain with the Lexington Police Department, member of the NC Law Enforcement Association, volunteered with Meals on Wheels and member of Lexington Memorial Masonic Lodge #473. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Clyde, Lester, Leonard, Foy and Alex Thomason; sisters, Inez Curtis and Marie Whittemore.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jackie Crotts Thomason of the home; sons, Greg Thomason and wife Annette and Michael Thomason all of Thomasville; three grandchildren, Josh Thomason and companion Nicky Grubb, Jessie and Jamie Thomason; great-grandchildren, Stepp and Tatum Thomason; sisters, Virginia Whitmire of Travelers Rest, SC, Peggy Brooks of High Point and Sarah English and husband Wayne of Anoka, MN.
