Lionel Wall, age 89 of Hawthorne Lane, Lexington passed away Friday night at Cleveland Regional Medical Center in Shelby.
Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Dearl Bunce and Rev. Raymond Byrd officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park with military honors by Davidson County Honor Guard. The family will greet friends at the church from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service.
Lionel was born in Davidson County July 23, 1926 to Culbreth Wall and Josie Gallimore Wall. Lionel was a retired employee of the US Army Reserve as an advisor and served his country in the US Army during World War II. He was a faithful member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon, building fund committee and many other committees in the church. He was faithful to visit the shut ins not only the church members but members in the community and delivered Meals on Wheels. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pansy Byrd Wall in 1988; sister, Frankie Owens and brothers, Charles Harding Wall and Paul David Wall.
Surviving is a son, Ronald Wall of Lexington, a niece that he made his home with Bonita Harper of Ellenboro, NC and numerous other nieces and nephews.
