Lloyd Carter Jr., 74, of Patricia Lane, died Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Faith Chapel, where he was a member, with Bishop Ronnie Shaw and Prophet Robert Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Carter was born February 10, 1935, in Lenoir, to Lloyd Clifton Carter Sr. and Elizabeth Bradshaw Carter. He was an elder at his church and retired from Fairchild Industrial in Greensboro. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, James Earl Carter; and brothers in law, Robert Tallent and Kermit Miller.
Surviving are his wife, Patricia Carter of the home; daughters, Deborah Lynn Carter Grau and Sharon Ade Carter Curry and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Kimberly Curry, Christopher Curry, Crystal Carter and James Carter; great-grandchild, Jandalyn Sumblin; and sisters, Catherine Goodman and husband, Larry, of Calabash, Betty Smith, Ruby Tallent, both of Lexington; and Mary Miller of China Grove.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
