Mr. H. Lloyd Surratt, age 82, of Becks Church Road, Lexington died Sunday, March 4, at his residence.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, March 8,at Becks Reformed Church conducted by Rev. Gerald Sanders. Burial with military honors will be held in the Becks Reformed Church Cemetery, following the service.
The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 7 at Davidson Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
Mr. Surratt was born December 18, 1929 in Forsyth County to Shelton McCoy Surratt and Lillie Henderson Surratt. He was a graduate of Denton High School and High Point College (now High Point University). He retired as Senior Vice President for Lexington State Bank, where he was employed for 39 years. He was a member of Becks Reformed Church, a former member of Central Lions Club and Central Volunteer Fire Department, a member of Lexington Memorial Lodge # 473 AF & AM. He was a veteran of the U S Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister Jane Surratt Coffey.
Mr. Surratt is survived by his wife, Laura Younts Surratt of the home; daughters, Mary Lynn Beck and husband Keith, Beth Green and husband Jimmy, and Julie Barlow and husband David, all of Lexington; a brother, Ned Surratt and wife, B.J. of Maryland; grandchildren, Josh Green and wife, Tonya, Lauren Beck, Sara Beck, Taylor Barlow and Casey Barlow.
