Lois Buhr Cranford, 93, of Lexington, NC, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.
Born on January 27, 1933, in Chicago, Illinois, to Loretta Mantuefel Buhr and Carl Nicolas Buhr.
She served in the United States Navy and was a dedicated member of Lifepoint Church. She worked for many years and retired from the former Lexington State Bank. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, reading, and watching her favorite TV shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Paul Buhr, husband Cletus Carroll Cranford, and step-son James Carroll Cranford.
She is survived by her three children, Richard Buhr (wife Lisa), Laura Cranford (partner Jennifer), and Carol Wells; seven grandchildren, Gregory Cranford, Amanda Harrison (husband Robert), Joshua Buhr (wife Hanna), Michael Buhr, Jessica Puryear (wife Whitney), Jack Wells, and Madison Cranford; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Freeman, Dylan Freeman, William Freeman, Everette Raye Buhr, Taytum Jo Buhr, Wrenleigh Puryear, Bowen Buhr, and Weston Puryear; many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday May 8th, 2026 at 2pm at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Lexington, NC with the beloved Nathan Becker officiating.
The family will receive friends at the home following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292.
