Lois Jean 'Honey' Norwood Smith

Lois Jean ‘Honey’ Norwood Smith, 85 of Lexington, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, September 2 ^nd at Spruce Street Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Terry Coats.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held

from 1:00pm until 2:00pm Wednesday at the church and other times at the home.

Lois was born on January 17, 1935 in Avery County to Vance Norwood and Edna Eggers Norwood.  She retired from Medical Records at Lexington Memorial Hospital and was a member of Spruce Street Baptist Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Charles Hoover Smith, of the home; sons, Garry Smith (Donna) and Rodney Smith (Deanna), both of Lexington; daughters Phyllis Everhart (Joel) and Sandra Robbins (Donnie), both of Lexington; brother, Dale Norwood of Kentucky; 6 grandchildren, Scott, Steve, Christy, Robbie, Austin, Lauryn and 7 great-grandchildren, Kaite, Taylor, Caleb, Delaney, Ava, Braxton and Eli.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Spruce Street Baptist Church, 407 Spruce Street, Lexington, NC 27292.
