Lois Craver Jarvis Mahala, age 85 of Riverside Drive Lexington, formerly of Tall Pines Road passed away Friday evening at the Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday (6-14-2009) at Davidson Funeral Home-Lexington Chapel with Rev. Doug Hochmuth officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery.
Lois was born in Davidson County, September 22, 1923 to Olin Matthew Craver and Irma Crews Craver. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church. She was employed with Manhattan Shirt Company for 29 years and later with Welcome School. She attended Yadkin College. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Raymond Clifton Jarvis in 1977, second husband George Luther Mahala in 2001, one brother, J.L. Craver and three sisters, Patty Laws, Betty Stevens and Margaret Montsinger.
Surviving are; one son, David Jarvis and wife Cathy of Lexington; two grandchildren, Cameron Thomason and husband Jonathan and Mackenzie Jarvis; two great-grandchildren, Eli Jarvis Thomason and Harrison Cooper Thomason; seven sisters, Charlotte Berrier and Lena Myers of Welcome, Esther McNeil of Winston Salem, Ruby Early of Lexington and Peggy Hill, Mildred Craver and Virginia Hill all of Midway.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Saturday.
