Lois Marie Varner Tysinger, 79, of Greensboro Street Ext., died Thursday, December 25, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center after declining health of nine months.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Pilgrim Reformed Church, where she was a life long member, by the Revs. Barry Surratt and George Fidler. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Tysinger was born June 1, 1929, in Davidson County, to Albert Sheets Varner Sr., and Stella Mae Medlin Varner. She was a retired secretary from the N.C. Forestry Service after 42 years. She was a member of Carrie Beck Sunday school class, Pilgrim Circle, bible study group and choir at her church. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are brother, Albert Sheets Varner Jr. of Lexington; nephews, Lawrence Varner Jr., Richard Varner, and Edward Eddie Varner, all of Lexington; niece Dianne Sink and husband, John Jr., of Lexington; great-nephew, Jason Varner of Lexington; two great nieces, Jamie Varner and Amber Sink, both of Lexington; one great-great-niece, Lauren Varner of Lexington; aunt, Helen Medlin of Greensboro; numerous cousins; and lots of loving friends.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home of Dianne Sink.
