Lois Leonard Weaver

Lois Leonard Weaver, 100, of Welcome, passed away April 4, 2024, peacefully at her home.

A funeral will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Center Church of Welcome, with Pastor Mitch Wilson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 PM, Thursday, prior to the service in the CFC.

Burial will directly follow the funeral in the church cemetery.

Lois was born on September 24, 1923, in Davidson County, to the late Robert Lee Leonard Sr. and Pearl Craver Leonard. After graduating from Welcome High School in 1940, she married the love of her life, Grover Weaver, and they were married for 68 years. At the start of WWII, they both worked as welders in a shipyard in Brunswick, GA and once Grover was drafted into the Navy, she went on to work for many years as an inspector for Western Electric from which she retired. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers of America as well as a charter member, along with her husband, of the WWII Memorial Monument Society.

Lois was a member of Center Church and loved attending whenever she could and was involved in most aspects of the church.
Her greatest joy came from her family, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Grover Harding Weaver; brothers, Robert Lee Leonard Jr, Boyd Leonard, Herman Leonard, Dean Leonard, and Jack Leonard; sisters, Mae Leonard Smith, Ruby Leonard Essick, and Pauline Leonard Weaver, and Pearline Leonard; and son-in-law Bill Wagner.

Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Kay Wagner, of Welcome; son, Kent Weaver (Pamela), of Welcome; grandchildren, Lyle Wagner (Jeannie), of Welcome, and Kendra Puckett (Michael), of Arcadia; and great grandchildren, Brady and Sadie Puckett.

The family would like to extend their gratitude and thank the staff at Trellis Supportive Care in Winston-Salem for their care and support during this difficult time.
