Lois Alber Wooten, 87, of Welcome Bethesda Road, died Sunday, February 16, 2014, at Abbotts Creek Rehabilitation Care Center, following a period of declining health. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 19, 2014, at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Pastor Lynn Jordon officiating. The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, at Davidson Funeral Home prior to the graveside servcice. Mrs. Wooten was born September 20, 1926, in St. Joseph County, In., to Ray M. Alber and Stella Swiceburger Alber. She was retired from Owens Illinois and of the Presbyterian faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold Wooten; a son, Melvin Boyd Wooten who died in 1980; and a brother, Jack Alber. Surviving are son, Larry Wooten and wife Mary of Arcadia; daughters, Brenda Kaplan and husband Norman of Clemmons and Ruth Ann Hinkle and husband Farrell of Welcome; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Arcadia United Methodist Church, 117 Boulevard Road, Clemmons, NC 27012; or Bethesda United Methodist Church General Fund, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
