Lola Mae Walker Moretz, age 93, formerly of Front St., Lexington, went to be with her heavenly father Friday, in Alston Brook Nursing Home, with her family surrounded around her at her passing, following a serious illness of two weeks.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, March 1, 2010 at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL with Pastor J.C. Miles and Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mrs. Moretz was born September 6, 1916 in Wilkes County to Harrison Roby Walker and Bertha Elizabeth Green Walker. She was a homemaker and a member of the Lexington Church of God. Preceding her in death was her husband, two sons, James Lewis McGuire, Earl Mack Christian Moretz, a son-in-law, Hugh Robertson, three brothers, Williard Wayne Walker, William McClaine Walker, Acie Von Walker, two sisters, Lola Chessie Adcock, Hester Faye Hamby and two grandchildren.
Surviving are five daughters, Nora Faye Robertson, Gladys Gertrude Moretz, Barbara Jean Kepley and husband, Jimmy, Brenda Gail Ford and husband, Russell all of Lexington; Linda Josephine Pierce and husband, Charles of Mocksville; 13 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 pm Monday, March 1, 2010, prior to the service.
The family would like to say a special thanks to the friends and nursing staff at Alston Brook Nursing Home for there kindness and loving care to Mrs. Moretz.
