Lona Smith Yarbrough

Lona Smith Yarbrough, age 81, of South NC Highway 150, Lexington passed away Wednesday morning (December 28, 2011) at Lexington Medical Center.  Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday (December 31, 2011) at Tyro United Methodist Church with Rev. Randy Foster officiating.  Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.   The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Friday and at other times at the home of her daughter, Becky Allred, Old Wesley Chapel Road, Linwood.   Lona was born in Davidson County, March 24, 1930 to Roy Ervin Smith and Ruth Howard Smith.  She was a homemaker; member of Tyro United Methodist Church and the Faith, Hope and Love Sunday School Class.  She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Howard Smith.   Surviving are, her husband, Edwin F. Yarbrough of the home; her daughter, Becky Allred and husband Steve of Linwood; her son, Tim Yarbrough and wife Marsha of Lexington; two grand daughters, Brittany Rummage and husband Matthew; Hannah Yarbrough; one great grandchild, Canaan Appling; two brothers, Billy Smith and wife Ann and Clyde Smith and wife Nancy all of Linwood.   The family would like to thank the Doctors, staff of CCU of Lexington Medical Center and the staff of Lexington Health Care.   Memorials may be made to Tyro United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 4484 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC  27295.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
