Lonnie Carter

Mrs. Lonnie Mae Hall Carter, 62, of Latham Drive, Welcome, died Thursday, March 1, 2007, at her home. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Baptist Church in Reeds, where she was a member, by the Rev. Ralph Byrd. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Her grandsons and friends will serve as pall bearers. Mrs. Carter was born Oct. 25, 1944, in McDowell County, W.Va., to Jess and Mary Bell Overbee Hall. She was married to Leonard Lee Carter, who survives of the home. Also surviving are two sons, James Wilson Carter and wife, Susan, of Hamptonville, and Leonard Lee Carter Jr. of Welcome; three daughters, Rosa Justice and husband, Gary, of Welcome, Sharon Greene and husband, Tim, of Hamptonville, and Shelia Goins and husband, Ronald, of Roderfield, W.Va; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four brothers, Freddie Hall and wife, Kim, and Ronnie Hall and wife, Mag, all of Taylorsville, Terry Hall and wife, Barbara, of Wilkesboro, and Bill Hall and wife, Dorothy, of Hickory; five sisters, Peggy Carson and husband, Stoney, of Taylorsville, Frankie Dillion of Roderfield, W.Va., Wilma Bishop and husband, Hubert, of Bristol, Va.; and Linda Eisenhower and husband, Lynn, and Jenny Duran and husband, Freddie, all of Hickory. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church, 812 Dykers Creek Road, Lexington, NC 27295
