Lonnie Joe Kesler, 60, of Boones Cave Road, passed on to his Lord on Thursday, November 15, 2012, at Hinkle Hospice House .
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Mr. Kesler was born August 23, 1952, in Rowan County, to Dock and Francis Kesler. Lonnie enjoyed riding horses from an early age. He attended many sortings, charity rides, wagon trains and later dedicated his time to the Yadkin Valley Youth Rodeo Association. Lonnie also crafted many pieces from rough cut lumber that were donated throughout the community and local churches. Lonnie will be remembered as a true cowboy, friend, and loving father.
Surviving are son, Seth Kesler and wife, Kali, of Lexington; daughter, April Kesler and fiancé, Chris Ends, of Lexington; special family friend, Shirley Lambe of Lexington; brother, Donald Kesler and wife, Dedee, of Lexington; sister, Jean Vukoson and husband, Bruce, of Chapel Hill; and his former wife and mother of his children, Patricia Kesler of Lexington.
