Lonnie Clifton Shoaf

Lonnie Clifton Shoaf, 83, of Lexington passed away on Friday, November 15, 2019 at Lexington Health Care.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Midway United Methodist Church with Reverend Chuck Ireson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00pm-3:00pm at the CFC of Midway United Methodist Church.

Mr. Shoaf was born in Davidson County on October 12, 1936 to Thomas Oscoe Shoaf and Ida Mae Sowers Shoaf.

Lonnie was a lifelong member of Midway United Methodist church, where he also taught Sunday School for many years. He worked in accounts payable and retired from Bahnson, Inc.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Ingle Shoaf; his brother Roy Lee Shoaf and three sisters, Anna Mae Smith, Lib Carter and Hazel Marsh.

Family left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Marsha Koonts (Bobby) of Lexington two sons, David Shoaf (Darrie) of Lexington and Scott Shoaf (Carolyn) of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren: Grant Shoaf, Emily Cole, Jill Davis, Mike Koonts, Alyson Shoaf and Zachary Shoaf; seven great grandchildren; brothers, Tommy Shoaf (Cynthia) and Robert Shoaf (Sue); sisters, Frances Rothrock and Margie Vanhoy (Larry).

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Trellis Supportive Care of Winston Salem or to Midway United Methodist Church.

Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel is serving the family.
