Lorene Stowers Black

Lorene Adeline Stowers Black, 91, of East 9th Street Extention, died Tuesday December 26, 2017 at Alston Brook Rehabilitation Center in Lexington.   A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Hepler officiating services.   Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends 6:00 to 7:00 pm Friday at Davidson Funeral Home.   Mrs. Black was born December 26, 1926, in Mercer County West Virginia to Zackie Pike Stowers and Stella Davidson Stowers. She was retired from Cross Roads Center and was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Black, a son Steven Beggs and a daughter Loretta Duncan.   Surviving  is two daughters, Alisha Murphy and husband Mike of Lexington, and Judy Foster and husband Tony of Lexington, 5 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren.     Memorials may be made to Leonard Road Baptist Church, General Fund, 592 Leonard
