Lou Ellen Evans Smith

Mrs. Lou Ellen Evans Smith, 60, of NC Highway 150, died Saturday, May 23 after declining health of several years. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with Rev. William Sowers officiating. Mrs. Smith was born January 26, 1949 in Rowan County to Cravin Harvey Evans and Anna Belle Rary Evans. She was a homemaker and served as chair of the Board of Christian Education at her church. She is survived by her husband, Bryce Smith, Jr. of the home; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends following the service in the Church Fellowship Hall and other times at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ, 3840 Allred Road, Lexington NC 27292
