Louisa Annie Sarah Martin Walters, age 94, of Arnold Road, Lexington passed away Monday night at Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, January 20, 2012 in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with Pastor John R. Woods, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Thursday night and at other times at the home of her daughter; Sylvia Drake, 3190 Arnold Road, Lexington.
Louisa was born in Rochester Kent, England on January 25, 1917 to Richard Arthur Martin and Annie Violet Matilda Branton Martin. She married James English Walters on July 4, 1944 in Norwich, England. They met while he was stationed in the US Air Force during World War II. He was the center of her life during their 58 years of marriage. She was proud to be English and was always an elegant lady, devoted wife and loving mother. She was a homemaker; attended Midway United Methodist Church and formerly attended Beulah UCC and Grace Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James E. Walters who died October 21, 2002.
Mrs. Walters is survived by her daughter, Sylvia Walters Drake and husband Gary of Lexington; her son, Perry Walters and girlfriend Jackie Fox of Lexington; grandchildren, Michael and Marisa Drake, Sarah Walters and boyfriend Brett Brooks; Lauren Walters and husband Steven; her best friend, Gloria Miller.
